WhatsApp Web themes might soon come to save us from boring gray bubbles

Meta is testing 49 chat themes for WhatsApp Web, introducing customization options for the desktop interface. The themes will change not only the background but also the color of message bubbles. These custom themes will be local to each user, meaning that the design choices will not be visible to others. There is no official release date for this feature, and it has not yet appeared in beta versions. Users are advised to check the Settings menu under the Theme section for updates.

Paint (25H2)

Microsoft has updated Paint significantly with the rollout of Windows 11, enhancing both its user interface and core functionalities. Key updates include the introduction of a Dark mode, an updated Text tool, layer capabilities similar to Photoshop, and support for transparent PNG files. Paint now features AI-driven tools, some of which require a Microsoft account and a Microsoft 365 subscription, while others are accessible on any PC or require a Copilot+ PC. Customization options in Paint are limited; users cannot disable any image creation or editing features but can change the app theme and configure watermark settings for AI-generated content. The toolbar can be set to auto-hide, and users can view their work in full screen by pressing F11. New features include the ability to save projects with multiple layers, a Remove background tool, an Image Creator for generating images from text prompts, and a Generative erase tool for removing objects from images. Copilot+ PCs unlock additional features that operate locally, such as Object select, Sticker generator, Cocreator, and Generative fill, which requires specific hardware capabilities.

1000xResist developer added a video sequence ‘out of desperation’ but now they’re bringing FMV back for their next game

Players of 1000xResist navigate through chapters with new perspectives and mechanics, featuring a transition to video footage of Hong Kong, which was incorporated out of necessity by creative director Remy Siu using archival documentary footage. The game explores the theme of convincing an AI of its humanity and utilizes full-motion video (FMV) as a storytelling tool, with the team focusing on narrative-driven games for innovation. The resurgence of FMV in gaming is highlighted by titles like Her Story and Road to Empress, showcasing diverse storytelling possibilities. Despite its niche status, Siu believes their unique approach can contribute to the genre. Another title, Prove You're Human, is set to launch on Steam, further enhancing the narrative landscape.

New LEGO Minecraft 2026 Set Images Leaked

Seven unannounced LEGO Minecraft sets have been leaked online, with a projected debut in stores during the summer of 2026. Since 2013, LEGO has released a total of 193 Minecraft sets, with 29 active sets listed as of mid-April 2026, including nine launched at the beginning of the year.

Minecraft World to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027

Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios are developing Minecraft World, a theme park land inspired by the video game, set to open in 2027 at Chessington World of Adventures in Greater London. The project involves an investment of £50 million (€57 million) and will feature attractions based on Minecraft's biomes, mobs, and items, including a world-first coaster, interactive adventures, and themed retail and dining options. Minecraft Tiny Takeover Twitch Drops: All Free Rewards

Mojang is hosting a Twitch drops event from April 6 to April 15, allowing players to earn three exclusive cosmetic rewards by watching live streams for five minutes. The rewards include three avatar hats: the Hatchling Hat, Bunny Beanie, and Turtle Tunes. A Baby Chick Chat Badge is also available but requires a Twitch Prime subscription. Rewards are sent as random codes to the Twitch inbox after the watch time. Players must link their Twitch account to their Minecraft account and redeem codes at minecraft.net/redeem. Gemini could finally catch up to other Google apps with this visual upgrade
