Microsoft has introduced a feature in Windows 11 that allows users to mirror their Android phone screens directly from the Start menu. Users can now access this functionality by clicking on their device's icon in the Start menu's phone companion panel, eliminating the need to open the Phone Link app. To use this feature, users must first link their Android phone to their Windows 11 computer using the Phone Link app. This connection also enables file transfers and the use of the phone as a webcam. Currently, the feature is available only to testers in the Windows 11 Insider Program and is compatible with a limited number of Android devices, with plans for a broader rollout by June.
Support for Windows 10 will officially conclude in October 2025, prompting users to seek alternative solutions for security and updates. Users with devices that do not meet Windows 11 requirements can install it on unsupported hardware using a tailored ISO and a tool called MicroWin. To create a personalized Windows 11 image, users must run a command in the Windows terminal to activate WinUtil, which allows downloading the latest official ISO from Microsoft. Users can customize their installation settings and generate a modified, lighter ISO. After creating the ISO, it can be transferred to a USB drive for installation. This method helps extend the lifespan of older PCs as users transition from Windows 10.
Elon Musk announced the rollout of a new feature called “XChat” for select X Premium subscribers, set to reach all paying users within a week. NatWest is experiencing issues with its mobile banking app, leading to over 3,000 outages reported around 10 am on a Friday. Customers have expressed frustration on social media due to their inability to send or receive money, pay bills, or transfer funds. The bank has stated that the problem is related to an update made to the app. Recent scrutiny has arisen for high street banks due to a series of outages, particularly at the end of the month when many receive paychecks. Data from the Treasury Committee revealed that nine of the UK’s largest banks and building societies faced over 33 days of unplanned outages in the past two years. NatWest reported 13 "material" incidents between 2023 and 2025, resulting in nearly £350,000 in compensation paid to affected customers. Barclays also indicated it could allocate up to £12.5 million in compensation for affected customers during the same period. Common reasons for these outages include issues with third-party suppliers, system changes, and internal software malfunctions.

The pglogical extension, compatible with PostgreSQL versions 9.4 and higher, allows for asynchronous replication and is supported on RDS for PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL from version 12. It uses a publisher/subscriber model for logical streaming replication.
To migrate a PostgreSQL database from Google Cloud SQL to RDS for PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL, users must configure the primary database in Cloud SQL, create a PostgreSQL user with replication privileges, enable logical replication parameters, and create the pglogical extension. The RDS instance also requires a special user for replication, enabling logical replication parameters and creating the pglogical extension.
Known limitations of pglogical include the inability to replicate primary key changes directly, the need to manually transfer extensions, and the lack of support for materialized views and large objects. Workarounds involve using surrogate keys for primary keys, manually creating extensions, and converting large objects to bytea columns or storing them in Amazon S3. DDL statements are not automatically replicated, but can be queued using the pglogical.replicate_ddl_command function.
