Android users can now add Oklahoma Driver’s License, State ID to Google Wallet

Eligible Android users in Oklahoma can now integrate their driver's licenses or state ID cards into Google Wallet. Residents must still carry their physical IDs even if they are uploaded to mobile devices. Participating TSA checkpoints, including Tulsa International Airport and OKC Will Rogers International Airport, accept these digital IDs, along with over 250 airports nationwide. Service Oklahoma has introduced a free verification app, "Oklahoma Reader," for businesses to confirm transaction details without retaining customer data. Digital IDs in Google Wallet are encrypted and require personal authentication for access. To add an Oklahoma Driver License or State ID to Google Wallet, users must open the app, tap "Add to Wallet," select "ID Card," and follow the verification instructions.

Ohio Mobile ID Arrives in Google Wallet, Opening the Program to Android

Ohio residents with Android devices can now integrate their driver's license or state ID into Google Wallet as part of the state's Mobile ID program. This digital credential is a companion to the physical card, and users are encouraged to carry their plastic IDs. To add the credential, users can navigate through the Google Wallet app. The digital ID is accepted for age and identity verification at various businesses, state buildings, TSA checkpoints, and casinos in Ohio. It utilizes specialized readers for presentation and allows users to review shared data. The credentials are encrypted and can be remotely erased if the phone is lost or stolen. Participation in the program is voluntary and free, adhering to privacy and security standards. Governor Mike DeWine highlighted the convenience of this innovation, and vendors are expanding support for mobile driver’s licenses in multiple states.

Samsung Wallet now holds your passport: Where it works (and where it doesn’t)

Samsung Wallet now allows users to store a TSA-approved digital passport for use at TSA checkpoints in the U.S., thanks to a collaboration with CLEAR. The wallet is available in multiple countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, India, the U.K., and the U.S., and supports various features such as storing debit, credit, and loyalty cards, passwords, and digital keys. However, the digital ID feature is only valid for domestic travel within the U.S., and travelers must carry their physical passports for international trips.
