Despite admitting to the conversations veering into inappropriate territory, Beahm clarified that no illegal activities occurred, no pictures were shared, and he never met the individual in person. He went through a civil dispute arbitration with Twitch, which was resolved through a settlement with no criminal charges brought against him. Beahm denied being a predator or pedophile and expressed his disgust at being labeled as such. His studio, Midnight Society, cut ties with him following reports of the inappropriate messages.

Midnight Society cuts ties with DrDisrespect following fresh Twitch ban allegations

Midnight Society, co-founded by Dr Disrespect, has cut ties with him due to new allegations that he was removed from Twitch for allegedly "sexting a minor" and attempting to meet up with them at TwitchCon. Former Twitch employee Cody Conners made the claims on Twitter, and the studio decided to sever ties after speaking with individuals involved. Beahm filed a lawsuit against Twitch over his ban in 2020, which was later resolved without fault admitted by either party. Beahm has maintained his innocence on social media.
