The Steam Winter Sale kicks off with deals on some of 2025’s biggest games

The Steam Winter Sale has officially started, offering significant discounts on popular titles of 2025, including Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which is now half its original price. The Steam Awards nominees have been announced, and voting is open until the sale ends, with winners revealed on January 3, 2026. One of the most ambitious MMORPGs is finally coming to Steam soon with a big price cut, but it’s still far from finished

Ashes of Creation, an MMORPG from Intrepid Studios, will debut on Steam on December 11 at a price of .99, with a 15% discount available for purchases made within the first two weeks. The game is currently in the Alpha Two phase, with plans to move to Beta One and Beta Two before full launch. The 'Alpha Two Third Wave Bundle' is available for , including access to both beta tests, a month of game time, and in-game currency. Existing playtesters will not receive a Steam key and must purchase the game on Steam or continue using the standalone client, which will be cross-compatible. Players who participated in testing before the Steam launch will receive two unique titles that alter their cloak's appearance.

PC Gamer’s Top 100 didn’t have a single MMO in it this year—here are my 3 theories as to why we did that

Despite the MMO genre thriving with updates and returning titles like City of Heroes, they require significant time investments, making them less appealing to gamers already engaged in other experiences. The scoring system for the list was updated to prioritize Freshness, which evaluates a game's uniqueness, leading to challenges for MMOs that often follow traditional formulas. As a result, many MMOs received low Freshness scores, contributing to their absence from the list.
