Forced Windows updates can now be paused forever

Microsoft has introduced updates to its Windows Update system, allowing users to pause updates indefinitely for up to 35 days and reset this limit as needed. Users can also shut down or restart their devices without being forced to install updates. These changes are in response to user feedback about disruptions caused by unexpected updates. The new features are currently being rolled out to participants in the Windows Insider program, specifically in the Dev and Experimental Channels.

Microsoft Starts Rolling Out New “Experimental” Windows Insider Channel

Microsoft is rolling out a new Experimental Windows Insider channel, transitioning users from the Dev Channel to the Experimental Channel with updates from the 26300 series builds. Over the coming weeks, Canary testers using the 28000 series will be moved to the Experimental (26H1) Channel, while those on the 29500 series will go to the Experimental (Future Platforms) Channel. The latest build for the Dev Channel is 26300.8289, which includes enhancements such as improved Windows Update functionalities and options to skip updates during the out-of-the-box experience. Dev Channel testers can enable the Experimental Channel option through Settings. The Experimental Channel will allow switching between 26H1 builds and future platform builds. Canary Channel testers have access to build 28200.1873, which rebrands the Xbox full-screen experience and improves the Touch Keyboard. Additionally, build 29576.1000 is available for testers on the 29500 series, featuring a redesigned volume slider and new metrics in Task Manager. Beta Channel Insiders can download build 26200.8283, which includes minor adjustments to the Start Menu and print drivers, but the new Beta experience will not be immediately available.

Black Ops 7 is finally getting one of Call of Duty’s most iconic maps

Summit, a popular map from Call of Duty, will return in Black Ops 7 as part of the Season 3 Reloaded patch. Originally introduced in Black Ops 1, it features a research facility on a snowy mountain with narrow corridors and a central research room. Summit has been updated with visual enhancements and advanced technology while retaining its iconic cable cars. Additionally, Hacienda from Black Ops 4 will also return, alongside new maps like Onsen and Ascent Freerun. The update includes new weapons such as the Siren special weapon and a Katana melee option, as well as a new Zombies map called Totenreich. Black Ops 7: Season 3 Reloaded launches on April 30, 2026, at 9am PST.

New Crimson Desert update brings new difficulty options and, most importantly, a pet bird

Pearl Abyss has released a significant update (1.04.00) for the open-world RPG Crimson Desert within a month of its launch, introducing three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. The update features redesigned boss combat patterns, multiple housing layout options, improved furniture controls, and new storage solutions for crafting and cooking items. Minecraft Chaos Cubed update: Release date, features and more

Rust’s Spring Clean update nerfs the shield meta and boosts early game energy
