Prepare your servers for Secure Boot certificate updates

Windows Server administrators should update Secure Boot certificates before the June 2026 expiration date. Microsoft has held Secure Boot Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) sessions in December 2025 and February 2026, with recordings available for those who missed them. Upcoming AMAs are scheduled for March and April. Updating and removing your Windows 11 apps is about to get a lot less frustrating

Microsoft is testing two significant upgrades for Windows 11 through its Windows Insider channels: 1. A dedicated App Updates page in Settings that allows users to update installed applications without going through the Microsoft Store. 2. Enhanced support for uninstalling Store-managed apps directly from the Store Library with a single click. The new App Updates page will enable updates for Store apps, standalone applications, and enterprise tools from the same interface, potentially reducing fragmentation in app management. However, early testing revealed that the "Check for updates" button did not yield results. These updates are currently limited to Windows Insider builds, with broader availability expected as Microsoft refines the features. Additionally, Windows 11 is evolving with enhancements such as Copilot-powered features, a more efficient right-click menu, and a streamlined copy-paste experience.

Google Photos drops Partner Sharing support for photos from other Android apps

Google Photos has updated its Partner Sharing feature to exclude photos from third-party Android applications. This change was confirmed in a support document update. Partner Sharing allows users to automatically share images based on specific criteria, but it will no longer apply to unedited screenshots or images from other Android apps. Users cannot bypass this restriction by altering the photo's origin in the app, although edited screenshots can still be shared. The reason for this change is unclear, but it may relate to enhancing user privacy. Google has not communicated this update to users within the Photos app, and those using Partner Sharing have not received notifications about it.

Microsoft Store is finally getting proper app changelogs, separate downloads page, and more

Microsoft has released an update for the Store app on Windows 11, version 22407.XXXX.X, now available to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channel. Key features include: - Enhanced library experience with the removal of the default setting that hid owned apps and games, allowing users to access all applications easily. - A new search box for locating programs in the library. - A dedicated "Updates & Download" page, providing an overview of current downloads and pending updates, along with access to release notes. - An experimental section for game developers to promote limited-time in-app events. - Refined badges in the Store to enhance user trust and encourage app acquisition. The rollout of these features will be gradual, and users may not see the updates immediately.
