Overwatch Season 2 is “modernizing” old heroes, and I’m ready for a Pharmercy revival

The Overwatch Season 2 update will feature significant changes, including the return of the 'Pharmercy' duo with revamped abilities for original heroes. Mercy will receive a Flash Heal ability, enhancing her healing capabilities, while Pharah will gain Drift Thrusters to improve her maneuverability during Barrage. Reaper will have Dire Triggers as a standard ability to better engage distant targets. The post-match experience will be revamped with a new accolades system for player recognition and a shared lobby voice chat during the Play of the Game. Competitive play will see reduced ranking penalties for losses on new or reworked maps, and a system for automatic map selection based on player votes. Blizzard is also considering improvements to the hero bans system for future updates. Overwatch Season 2 is set to launch on April 14, introducing new character Sierra.

You can finally rescue Half-Life’s guards and scientists thanks to this mod inspired by Lemmings

Half-Life: Lemmings is a mod for Half-Life: Source that allows players to rescue up to 45 non-playable characters (NPCs), such as scientists and guards, within the Black Mesa facility. The mod features custom animations for rescuing NPCs, enhanced navigation capabilities for them, and upgrades for guards who can now use shotguns, MP5s, and grenades. The mod covers gameplay from the beginning of the Unforeseen Consequences chapter to the Apprehension chapter. It is available for download on ModDB, although Half-Life: Source is not listed on the Steam store but can still be purchased for £8.50.

Crimson Desert turns a beloved bug into a feature and makes its bonus protagonists actually worth using

Developer Pearl Abyss has released significant updates for Crimson Desert as part of their weekly patch cycle. The latest patch includes the introduction of the 'Focused Aerial Roll' skill for Kliff, allowing players to perform aerial maneuvers. Characters Damiane and Oongka have received upgrades with new skills like Axiom Force and Nature's Snare shield, and enhancements to their existing abilities. Five new camera settings have been added for customization, and improvements have been made to lock-on mechanics during boss encounters. The gameplay menu now features 'weapon display' toggles, adjustable font sizes, and increased fast-forward speeds for dialogue scenes. Fast travel has been revamped to allow teleportation while mounted or climbing, and clearer indicators for Abyss puzzles have been implemented. A camp upgrade has improved NPC placements and expanded farm areas, while basic banking services are now available even in a 'wanted' state. Additional UI enhancements and fixes have been made to streamline the gameplay experience. The patch 1.03.00 is now live on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Roblox Plus is replacing the current Premium subscription, and it sounds like a big upgrade

Roblox will retire its Premium subscription model and introduce a new subscription called Roblox Plus, effective April 30. Existing Premium subscribers can keep their plan but will lose certain benefits, such as bonus Robux. Roblox Plus will offer a fixed monthly rate of .99, a 10% discount on in-game purchases (increasing to 20% after three consecutive months), and access to free unlimited private servers. Creators can earn 100 Robux for each Plus user spending time in their private servers and receive a bonus of 250 Robux for each new subscriber they bring in. Users will be able to trade and resell avatar items and transfer Robux, with parental approval required for users under 18. Optional extras for bundling subscriptions with additional Robux will be introduced after launch, but the 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases will be eliminated.

Microsoft has released four new preview builds of Windows 11 for the Windows Insider Program across its Canary, Dev, and Beta channels. In the Canary channel, the latest update KB5083824 upgrades systems to Windows 11 build 28020.1812, introducing improvements such as customizable touchpad right-click zone sizes, a smaller peek view for the Drag tray, visibility into Secure Boot certificate status in Windows Security, and design updates in the Feedback Hub. For those in the Canary channel who opted for the 29xxx build series, build 29565.1000 includes underlying platform changes, enhancements to the bubble screensaver for high refresh rate displays, and the same Drag tray, Windows Security, and Feedback Hub improvements. In the Dev channel, users can upgrade to Windows 11 25H2 build 26300.8170 with update KB5083632, while the Beta channel receives update KB5083635, upgrading to Windows 11 25H2 build 26220.8165. Both updates feature storage improvements allowing FAT32 drive formatting up to 2 TB from the command line, corrected Data usage views in Network settings, and the same Windows Security and Feedback Hub enhancements.

Improving your Windows Insider experience

The Windows Insider Program is undergoing changes to improve user experience based on feedback from the community. The channel structure will be simplified into two main options: Experimental and Beta. The Experimental channel will provide early access to features under development, while the Beta channel will showcase features planned for near-term release without gradual rollouts. Users will have the option to select specific Windows core versions and enable or disable features through a new Feature flags page. Additionally, transitioning between channels will now allow for in-place upgrades, preserving apps and settings, except when moving from Experimental Future Platforms. All Insiders will be transitioned to either the new Beta or Experimental channel, with specific transitions outlined for current users in the Beta, Dev, and Canary channels. Commercial customers will see similar changes, while those in the Windows Server Insider Program will not experience alterations.
