Microsoft October Patch Tuesday for Windows 11 Fixes 175 Flaws

Microsoft's October 2025 Patch Tuesday addressed 175 vulnerabilities, including two zero-day elevation-of-privilege flaws: CVE-2025-24990, related to the legacy ltmdm64.sys Agere Modem driver, and CVE-2025-59230, affecting the Remote Access Connection Manager. Five vulnerabilities were classified as critical, including CVE-2025-59246 (remote code execution in Azure Entra ID), CVE-2025-55315 (ASP.NET Core vulnerability), CVE-2025-49708 (Microsoft Graphics Component bug), CVE-2025-59287 (Windows Server Update Service flaw), and CVE-2025-59228 (SharePoint vulnerability). The update (KB5066835) also resolved usability issues, such as print preview hangs and input detection failures. Microsoft notified administrators about the expiration of Secure Boot certificates in June 2026. Windows 11 users can install the update via Settings > Windows Update, requiring a system restart and data backup before installation.

The project consists of 1,020 x 260 x 1,656 blocks, totaling 439 million blocks. While the model functions, it has significant usability issues, requiring several hours for responses to queries. The system typically takes about two hours to generate a response to a simple prompt, even with a boosted tick rate of approximately 40,000x speed. CraftGPT is not intended to compete with mainstream chatbot applications due to limitations in chat quality, depth, and accuracy.

Microsoft reminds of Windows 10 support ending in two months

Microsoft has announced that all editions of Windows 10, version 22H2 will reach end of servicing on October 14, 2025. On this date, Windows 10 2015 LTSB and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 2015 will also conclude their extended support, and Microsoft will stop providing bug fixes or technical assistance for these versions. The final security update for Windows 10, version 22H2 will be released in October 2025. Users are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11 or migrate to Windows 11 in the cloud via Windows 365 to maintain security updates. The Extended Security Updates (ESU) program is available for those who wish to delay transitioning to Windows 11. Windows 10 devices connected to Windows 11 Cloud PCs can benefit from ESU at no extra charge. Specialized devices can switch to Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) releases, which will continue to receive updates beyond October 2025. Windows 11 has surpassed Windows 10 in install base, with over 53% of systems running Windows 11 compared to 42% on Windows 10. As of July 2025, 59.9% of gamers are using Windows 11, while 35.1% are on Windows 10. Microsoft provides resources for users to check end-of-service dates for various Windows releases.

I tried Canva’s photo editor to see if it could replace my favorite free app

The Windows File Explorer is still so bad when it comes to networked drives
