Today, Microsoft released a new Windows 10 C-release preview update, KB5043131, Build 19045.4957. The update features a redesigned Start menu with a repositioned profile picture and a new background color, which will be gradually rolled out. Users may experience unresponsiveness in Microsoft Edge while using IE mode and some media playback issues with specific surround sound technologies. Improvements include a less intrusive SSO notice for Microsoft Entra, refreshed COSA profiles for mobile operators, resolved issues with File Explorer and the taskbar, new Windows Update opt-in notifications, and known syncing issues with Work Folders files when Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is enabled. A known issue prevents users from changing their user account profile picture, with an error code 0x80070520; Microsoft is working on a resolution. The update can be manually downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
