Microsoft’s new mini PCs skip Windows and get you right where your work is

Microsoft introduced Windows 365 Link in 2024, allowing PCs to boot directly into Office applications without the traditional Windows operating system. This service requires minimal hardware, enabling users to utilize lightweight devices for cloud operations. Microsoft has partnered with manufacturers to create mini PCs for Windows 365 Link, including the Asus NUC 16 and Dell Pro Desktop, both launching in the third quarter of 2026. The Asus NUC 16 has a 0.7L form factor, supports three displays, and integrates with Microsoft Intune. The Dell Pro Desktop can be used vertically or horizontally, also supports three displays, and features a fanless design for silent operation. Both devices aim to enhance productivity and simplify IT management.

This Android-based tablet blends a paper-like display with app support

The HANNspree Lumo features a 7.8-inch reflective LCD display that mimics paper, prioritizing user comfort and versatility. It is categorized as a "Dynamic Paper Tablet," utilizing ambient light for a matte, low-glare screen. The tablet weighs approximately 250 grams and is 6.6mm thick. It supports full color with a 60Hz refresh rate and has a resolution of 1024 x 768, optimized for reading. The device runs on Android 14, powered by a MediaTek MTK8781 chip, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, stylus support (sold separately), front and rear cameras, a built-in microphone, and a 3,000mAh battery that lasts about 6.5 hours for video playback. The Lumo is currently available in Europe for around €369, with no confirmation of a U.S. release.

Threads is getting group chats as messaging rolls out to the EU

Instagram Threads has introduced group chats, allowing users to connect with up to 50 people. This feature is now available worldwide, including in the EU, where its launch was previously delayed. Users aged 18 and older can share content such as text posts, videos, GIFs, and emojis in these group chats. However, group chats are not encrypted. To start a group chat, users must follow the person who wants to add them, enhancing user comfort and reducing unwanted interactions. Users can name their group chats and will soon be able to invite others via a shared link. Over a third of daily Threads users follow fewer than half the accounts they follow on Instagram.

The game is compatible with the Steam Deck but is rated "Playable" instead of "Verified" due to text size issues. The script for Final Fantasy Tactics was updated to include new voice acting while maintaining its political commentary.
