Gearbox says Borderlands 4’s humor will be grounded in its world: ‘We want to make sure that it’s situational, that it emerges naturally’

At PAX West, Gearbox announced that Borderlands 4 will feature a new planet and a new roster of vault hunters. The studio aims to refine the franchise's humor by focusing on character-driven comedy. Art director Adam May described the game as "the most diverse and beautiful" the team has ever created. The game is set to be released next year and will be the first Borderlands title fully owned by Take-Two Interactive after their acquisition of Gearbox in March.
