In 2025, users reported over 20 issues with Windows 11, leading to dissatisfaction reminiscent of past criticisms of Windows Vista and Windows 8. The original Windows 8 promotional campaign effectively highlighted its features through engaging marketing, contrasting with recent Copilot ads that faced backlash for showcasing the AI's limitations. Microsoft has shifted its focus towards AI integration, particularly with Copilot, despite negative feedback from users and developers regarding its effectiveness. Historically, Microsoft responded to Windows 8's challenges by releasing Windows 8.1, which addressed user concerns and improved functionality. A similar update, Windows 11.1, could help restore user confidence and improve the overall experience with Windows 11.

The Indian government has taken action against the Wingo app, a cyber fraud network that sent fraudulent SMS messages from users' devices without consent. The app's digital infrastructure has been blocked, and four associated Telegram channels with 153,000 users have been shut down. Over 53 related videos have been removed from YouTube. The Wingo app lured users with promises of quick financial gains, encouraging them to deposit funds for minor tasks or investments, but then either shut down or blocked accounts after receiving money. Payments were made through UPI or personal wallets, complicating traceability. Users were asked for access to personal data and provided with fake customer care numbers. Android users are advised to avoid apps promising guaranteed profits, verify app legitimacy, and refrain from granting unnecessary permissions. The government recommends uninstalling suspicious apps and reporting them, as well as contacting the cybercrime helpline at 1930 for assistance.

Google has begun rolling out an update to its Phone app to address rotation issues that caused the app to unexpectedly rotate during calls. The update introduces a "keep portrait mode" option in the Display settings, allowing users to maintain a consistent portrait orientation during calls. Previously, the app followed the device's auto-rotation settings, which led to unwanted rotations. Users reported that the app's rotation would split the interface into two views, disrupting conversations. The new feature is now available to all users. Additionally, there are plans for a feature called "Expressive Calling," which would allow users to set a "call reason" to make urgent calls more noticeable.
