Steam’s Wildly Unclear New Rules On ‘Adult Content’ Have Already Seen Hundreds Of Games Delisted

Steam has recently updated its content guidelines, leading to the delisting of hundreds of extreme adult games, particularly those involving sensitive themes like incest and sexual violence. The updated guidelines specify 15 unacceptable characteristics for published content, including "sexually explicit images of real people" and certain adult-only content that may violate payment processor rules. Notable titles removed include "Incest Tales: Webcam Daughter" and "Reincarnation in another world going to rape All NPCs VR." The developer of "Daddy Daughter Incest," EroticGamesClub, still has other adult games available, raising questions about the criteria for delisting. The majority of these adult games are simplistic visual novels, often criticized for low quality. Valve states it is open to hosting adult content if appropriately labeled and age-gated, but the ambiguity in the new rules has left developers uncertain about compliance.

Ghost Town Confirms PC VR Launch For Next Week

Ghost Town, developed by Fireproof Games, will be released on Steam for PC VR on July 15, following a successful demo at Steam Next Fest. The game features Edith Penrose, a witch turned ghost hunter, and is set in the UK during the 1980s. It was initially launched on the Quest platform in April, and a free demo is currently available on Steam. Fireproof Games has not announced a release date for the PlayStation VR2 version. The release date was moved up from July 17 to July 15.

Zero Caliber 2 Highlights PC VR Upgrades And Launch Window

XREAL Games unveiled new gameplay footage for Zero Caliber 2 during the UploadVR Summer Showcase and announced a projected release window for its PC VR version on Steam, set for Q3 2025. The game, initially launched on Quest, is being adapted for PC VR with enhancements including advanced enemy AI, improved ragdoll physics, dynamic shadows, enhanced explosion and weapon effects, refined environments and lighting, and smoother vehicle animations. Several missions are being rebuilt, and character models are receiving further refinement. Additionally, Zero Caliber 1 is targeting a Q3 2025 launch on PlayStation VR2, with plans for Zero Caliber 2 on the same platform contingent on the performance of Zero Caliber VR. Currently, Zero Caliber 2 is available on Quest.
