Gemini app’s ‘personal context’ uses your old chats for future, personalized answers

Google has updated its Gemini app to include a "personal context" feature that enhances user interaction by utilizing insights from past conversations to tailor responses. Users can enable or disable this feature for a personalized experience. Additionally, Google has introduced Temporary Chats and revised Gemini Apps Activity settings to improve user privacy. The app can remember details about users, such as preferences and dietary restrictions, streamlining future interactions. This update builds on the previous "Saved Info" feature, allowing Gemini to autonomously retain key user profile aspects. In July, Google also launched "Gemini Drops," expanding the AI model's reach to WearOS devices.

Six new Android features just dropped, and you can try them out today

Android 16 introduces several new features, including enhancements to RCS group chats, a redesigned Google Photos editor, and improved functionality in the Google Home app. RCS group chat updates allow users to customize group chats with unique icons and names, check RCS status of friends, and mute notifications for specific groups. The Google Photos app features a new image editor with AI-driven suggestions, a Reimagine feature for creative expression, and an Auto frame function for better image cropping. The Google Home app now includes device-specific shortcuts for easier management of smart devices and an upgraded Safety Check feature for scheduling check-ins. WearOS smartwatches can now tap city transit cards even when the Google Wallet app is closed, provided the feature is activated.

How to switch to grid app view on a Google Pixel Watch

Keeper Security Enhances WearOS App and Android Offline Mode

Keeper Security has enhanced its Keeper WearOS app, previously known as KeeperDNA, to improve security and user experience for smartwatch users. The app now aligns with Google's Android guidelines, featuring a modern interface that allows users to securely view stored credentials and utilize Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) more easily. Key features include Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) code viewing, Watch Favorites for quick access to frequently used logins, and improved offline functionality that allows users to access Keeper data without an internet connection. The account setup process has been simplified, and users can manage offline access and 2FA settings separately. The updated app is available on the Google Play Store and supports zero-knowledge encryption. Future updates are planned to include passkey support and standalone functionality for managing security directly from wearable devices.
