Google’s Pixel Weather app begins testing snowfall forecasts with latest update

Google has updated its Pixel Weather app to improve user experience, including a 10-day forecast feature that now displays both dates and days of the week. A new shortcut allows users to save and showcase locations directly on the homepage. The app is testing a snowfall forecast feature, which includes a dedicated snowfall forecast card with hourly estimates, snow intensity, and timing. This feature is also being integrated into the Google app and Search but is not yet available to all users. The Pixel Weather app just got a handy update for unit measurements

Android Auto now supports weather apps for real time updates

This feature expands the app categories available, which previously included Media, Navigation, Messaging, POI, and IoT, with Android Automotive also supporting Video, Games, and Browsers when stationary. The weather apps allow drivers to receive real-time updates based on their location or route, aiding in trip planning and keeping them informed about changing conditions. This initiative was announced at the Google I/O event earlier this year, and several weather applications are already available for download.

Google is officially opening up Android Auto to weather apps, but you don’t have to wait

The supported app categories now include Media (audio), Messaging, Navigation, Point of Interest (POI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Weather. For parked vehicles, additional categories like Video, Games, and Browsers are available exclusively on Android Automotive OS. The Weather category is currently in beta, limited to specific testing tracks, and aims to provide weather updates along with navigation functionalities. Early adopters of this category include "Weather & Radar" and "MyRadar Weather Radar."

A bug in Microsoft's weather systems caused the Windows 11 weather widget and other displays to show temperatures as high as 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This anomaly has been reported by users, with one screenshot showing a temperature of 30,014 degrees Fahrenheit. The issue is attributed to a programming error, as the Earth's surface temperature is generally much cooler than this figure.
