Epic Games initiated a legal dispute against Google and Apple over a 30 percent sales commission. A ruling by Judge Margaret McKeown upheld a jury's verdict, confirming antitrust violations by Google and supporting an injunction to change app distribution practices. The ruling indicates that Google's anticompetitive behavior has solidified its market dominance. Google is considering appealing to the US Supreme Court but has secured a suspension of a 2024 order during the appeal process. The ruling requires Google to stop enforcing its Play billing system, allow third-party payment options, and make its Play Store catalog available through alternative app stores. Additionally, Google must permit third-party app stores within its Play environment. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced plans to launch the Epic Games Store on Google Play following the ruling.

OneDrive for Mac will soon support syncing with removable external drives, following the previous support for non-removable drives. This feature is available to Insiders using build 25.097 or later on macOS 15.0 or later. The external drives must be formatted for APFS, protected by FileVault, and not be read-only, network drives, or marked as quarantined. Users cannot transfer external drives between Macs for migrating OneDrive files; they must reconfigure OneDrive on the new device. Microsoft is seeking user feedback on this feature but has not provided a timeline for wider availability.

Microsoft has launched Copilot Labs, a testing environment for new AI tools, starting with the "Think Deeper" feature that uses a step-by-step approach for complex problem-solving. This feature is being rolled out to select Copilot Pro users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. Additionally, Microsoft introduced Copilot Vision, which enhances the AI assistant's capabilities by allowing it to understand visual content in the Microsoft Edge browser. Copilot Vision is opt-in and will not store any captured data, with initial access limited to a pre-approved list of websites. The rollout of these features will be gradual, with Microsoft prioritizing user feedback. Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, indicated that Copilot could learn from user interactions across devices, pending user consent. However, features like Microsoft's Recall, which tracks user activities, have raised privacy concerns among users.
