Microsoft has acknowledged a bug affecting some Windows 10 users, incorrectly notifying them that their systems are “out of support.” Users can extend their Windows 10 support at no cost until October 13, 2026. The misleading message appears even when the user’s PC remains fully supported. This issue potentially impacts users on Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, Education editions with ESU enabled, as well as Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 and IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021. Users will continue to receive updates if they are on Windows 10 LTSC or linked to ESU. Microsoft is rolling out a server-side fix for the false alert, which is expected to disappear within 24 to 48 hours. Users can verify their installed version or edition by navigating to Settings > System > About. Microsoft has provided a rollback option for IT administrators to address this issue.

StackSocial is offering a lifetime access license for Microsoft Windows 11 Home for .97, down from its original price of 9.99. This version is intended for PCs without a Windows 11 license and requires meeting Microsoft's system requirements. Users currently on Windows 10 who cannot upgrade via Windows Update may find this version incompatible. The license cannot be used to downgrade from Pro editions and is a one-time activation key tied to a single device. Windows 11 Home features an improved interface, Snap layouts, virtual desktops, integrated Microsoft Teams, TPM 2.0 support, and DirectX 12 Ultimate for enhanced gaming performance. The license does not include Microsoft Office upgrades or new versions.

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 in October 2025, which will result in the loss of crucial updates and security patches for users. The Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, initially for Windows 7, has been expanded to include Windows 10 home users, allowing a one-year extension for a fee, while business customers can extend support for three years or more. There are methods discovered that allow users to bypass the ESU for Windows 7, enabling updates for five years post-support. Preliminary tests suggest a similar bypass may be possible for Windows 10, allowing updates after the official end of support in October 2024, but the legal implications are unclear. Users unable to upgrade to Windows 11 due to hardware requirements must consider options like the ESU program or micro-patching services such as 0Patch, which offers security patches for Windows 10 until at least 2030 for an annual fee.

The Print Management Console is a utility in Windows 10 that allows desktop administrators to manage printer settings and configurations. It may be missing from some Windows 10 deployments, particularly in the Home edition and in installations from Windows 10 version 2004 onwards, where it became an optional feature. To check for its presence, users can run the command PrintManagement.msc. If absent, it can be installed using PowerShell with the command Get-WindowsCapability -Name "Print.Management.Console*" -Online | Add-WindowsCapability -Online or through the Windows GUI by navigating to Settings > System > Optional Features and adding it from there. The console is particularly useful for managing multiple printers, controlling access permissions, and monitoring print jobs.
