In a notable incident in Moscow, a 59-year-old courier has found himself embroiled in a criminal case after sharing episodes of the series “Verdict” online. This information was reported by the Telegram channel Mash.
Details of the Case
According to sources, the individual, who has been referred to as an “info-anarchist,” downloaded the content from a streaming platform and subsequently uploaded it to torrent trackers without any expectation of compensation. The rights holder quickly detected the leak, which resulted in an impressive view count exceeding 150,000.
The authorities were able to identify the perpetrator, and experts have assessed the financial damage at a staggering 150 million rubles. Consequently, the Moscow branch of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against him.
The courier now faces a potential prison sentence of up to six years. Additionally, he may be liable for a substantial fine and could be required to compensate the online cinema for the losses incurred.
Earlier reports from ABN24 indicated that couriers in Moscow can earn over 20,000 rubles in a single day, highlighting the stark contrast between their daily earnings and the severe repercussions of this legal situation.
