Microsoft continues its gradual transition from the traditional Control Panel to the more streamlined Settings app in Windows 11. Recent updates in the Dev and Beta builds have revealed that several mouse settings, including pointer trails and the option to hide the pointer while typing, are being migrated to this modern interface.
Windows 11 gets more mouse tools in the Settings app
In these latest Insider Preview builds, users will find that they no longer need to navigate through the Control Panel to access essential mouse customization options. Instead, these features can now be conveniently adjusted from the Accessibility page within the Settings app. This shift not only simplifies the user experience but also suggests that Microsoft is preparing to roll out these enhancements in a future stable version of Windows 11.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first instance of these mouse options appearing in the Settings app. Similar features were previously included in the Windows Server Preview Build 26376, but now they are accessible to consumer users as well. The discovery of these options was made by a well-known Windows enthusiast, who also provided guidance on how to enable them in the latest builds.
