Copilot on Windows: Press to talk begins rolling out to Windows Insiders

Enhancements to Microsoft Copilot App for Windows Insiders

Windows Insiders can look forward to an exciting update for the Microsoft Copilot app, now available through the Microsoft Store. This update introduces a series of enhancements designed to streamline user interaction and improve overall functionality.

Press to Talk: One of the standout features is the new voice interaction capability. Users can now engage with Copilot using their voice, thanks to a simple hotkey. By holding down the Alt + Spacebar for two seconds, users can initiate a voice conversation without disrupting their current workflow. To conclude the interaction, a quick press of the Esc key will suffice. Should there be a pause in conversation for several seconds, Copilot will automatically end the session, and the microphone icon will disappear from the screen.

This update, identified as version 1.25024.100.0 and higher, is currently being rolled out across all Insider Channels via the Microsoft Store. It is important to note that the new features will be introduced gradually, meaning not all Insiders will receive the update simultaneously. The Windows Insider Program Team is eager to gather feedback on these improvements to ensure that all users enjoy a seamless Copilot experience on Windows.

FEEDBACK: Users are encouraged to provide their insights through the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Apps > Copilot, or directly within the Copilot app by selecting their profile icon and choosing “Give feedback.”
