Hello Windows Insiders,
Enhancements to Microsoft Copilot App
Today marks the rollout of an exciting update for the Microsoft Copilot app on Windows, available through the Microsoft Store. This update introduces significant enhancements to Copilot Vision, designed to elevate user experience and streamline task completion.
Highlights: One of the standout features is the ability to share a single browser or app window with Copilot Vision. This functionality allows Copilot to guide users through specific tasks using visual cues. Simply ask Copilot to “show me how,” and it will pinpoint the exact areas within the shared browser or app that require attention. Currently, this feature operates with a single application. Users can easily halt the highlights by pressing the stop button, returning to their regular Vision session. Here are a few practical examples to explore:
- Share your Settings window and inquire, “Show me how to turn on night light.”
- Present your favorite productivity app and ask, “Show me how to add a footer.”
- Share your preferred video editing software and request, “Show me how to add text to my video.”
2-app support: The Copilot Vision update also introduces support for sharing up to two applications simultaneously. This enhancement enables Copilot to analyze and provide insights across the shared apps. For instance, users can share their backpacking adventure packing list alongside an online list and ask, “Is there anything missing from my packing list, compared to the online list?”
To begin utilizing Copilot Vision on Windows, simply click the glasses icon in your composer, select the desired browser window or app to share, and prompt Copilot for assistance with your current task. To cease sharing, just press ‘Stop’ or ‘X’ in the composer.
This update, identified as version 1.25044.92.0 and higher, is currently being rolled out across all Insider Channels via the Microsoft Store. At present, Copilot Vision, including the highlights and 2-app support features, is available to Insiders in the U.S. Please note that these features will be gradually rolled out, so not all Insiders will receive the update immediately. We are thrilled to preview these improvements with our Insiders to ensure a superior Copilot experience for all Windows users.
FEEDBACK: We encourage you to share your thoughts directly within the Copilot app by clicking on your profile icon and selecting “Give feedback.”
Thank you,
The Microsoft Copilot Team
