Google Drive for Windows on Arm PCs is now widely available

In a significant development for users of Arm-compatible Windows PCs, Google has officially launched its Google Drive app tailored for devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. This marks a pivotal moment as the app, which was previously available in beta, is now deemed “generally available” following an update shared on Monday.

The Arm64 version of the Google Drive app offers the same functionalities as its traditional counterpart, allowing users to store, sync, and access files seamlessly. However, it is important to note that the app is exclusively available for devices running Windows 11 and requires Microsoft WebView 2, typically included with the operating system.

For those who participated in the beta testing, Google will prompt an upgrade to the latest version upon launch. New users can easily download the Google Drive for Arm64 directly from Google’s website.

The introduction of this app coincides with the growing ecosystem of applications supporting Arm64 architecture, particularly following the launch of Qualcomm-equipped Copilot Plus PCs last year. Notable applications such as Google Chrome, NordVPN, and ExpressVPN have also embraced this compatibility. Furthermore, Microsoft is actively developing updates to enhance software and gaming experiences through its Prism emulator, promising even greater versatility for users in the future.
