Notepad Gets Long-Awaited Updates
Four months ago, Microsoft announced that it was testing new features for its Notepad app, including spell checking and autocorrect. Now, these updates are quietly rolling out to all users, bringing much-needed improvements to the popular tool.
Notepad, which has been around since 1983, has always been a simple and free alternative to more advanced word processing software. With the addition of spell checking and autocorrect, users can expect an even better experience when using the app.
Recent updates to Notepad have also included word counts, automatic saving, and the ability to work on multiple documents with tabs. Microsoft has also added AI support to enhance the functionality of the tool.
To check if you have the new spell checking feature, simply open Notepad and click on the Settings cog at the top right. You should see the Spell check and Autocorrect options at the bottom of the menu.
