One of Stardock’s best Windows customization tools is getting even better

Stardock, renowned for its innovative Windows 11 customization tools, has unveiled the beta version of Fences 6, a desktop organization tool designed to enhance user experience and productivity. This latest iteration introduces a suite of customization options that not only elevate the aesthetic appeal of the desktop but also streamline workflow.

What’s new in Fences 6

The standout feature of Fences 6 is the introduction of tab support, allowing users to create multiple fences within the same area. This functionality enables seamless switching between different content types, whether applications or files accessed through the folder portals feature. The result is a significant reduction in visual clutter while maintaining easy access to essential resources.

Visually, Fences 6 borrows a concept from Stardock’s Start11 v2, incorporating icon tinting that aligns icons with a chosen color scheme. This feature ensures a cohesive look across the desktop, enhancing the overall visual harmony. Additionally, a new color picker simplifies the process of selecting the perfect hue for fences and app icons, enabling users to personalize their workspace further.

Beyond these enhancements, Stardock has revamped folder navigation within Folder Portals, aiming to deliver a more intuitive user experience. Other quality-of-life improvements have also been integrated, contributing to a more refined application overall.

It now runs natively on Arm

In a noteworthy development, Fences 6 now supports Windows on Arm, joining the ranks of other Stardock applications like Start11 v2 and Multiplicity 4. This native support is particularly advantageous for Fences, which operates continuously in the background, promising improved performance and efficiency on Arm-based devices.

Fences 6 pricing and availability

The beta version of Fences 6 is currently available for .99, a promotional price during the testing phase that grants users a one-year license. Following the beta, the annual subscription will be priced at .99, consistent with the cost of its predecessor, Fences 5. For those subscribed to the Object Desktop suite, access to Fences 6 will be included at no additional charge.
