Changes and Improvements
- Lock screen: Microsoft is introducing Weather and more to the lock screen in the latest Windows 11 build. Stay updated with dynamic updates on finance, traffic, sports, and weather. The card design has been enhanced with acrylic blur, card size adjustments, spacing improvements, and font optimizations. To activate this feature, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
- Start menu: Users can now easily pin apps from the Start menu to the taskbar by dragging and dropping items directly from the pinned section in the Start menu.
- Settings:
- Evaluation copy expiry date information is now visible under Settings > System > About.
- A new energy recommendation for turning off HDR to save energy on PCs with HDR displays is being rolled out under Settings > Power & battery > Energy recommendations.
Fixes
- Input: Resolved an issue causing errors when using Voice Typing with certain languages like Chinese.
- Task Manager: Fixed colors not displaying correctly in the Performance section in dark mode.
- Settings:
- Icons in Settings > Apps > Startup are now appropriately sized for all users.
- No more duplicate text in Settings > System > Power & Battery warning about a slow charger.
- Windows Update page in Settings now displays correctly for all Insiders after the previous flight.
Known Bugs
- General: Some Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels may be stuck on previous builds. If you’re eager to update, you can download the latest ISO for a clean install and opt back into flighting in the Canary or Dev Channels.
