Honourable mentions
GTA III, San Andreas, Vice City and Liberty City are also open-world games with low-key vehicle combat built into them. Only it’s not as detailed as Chinatown Wars; players just crash into other cars and in San Andreas, they can perform a drive-by.
Still, they are well-made action games with engaging narratives that any driving game fan would love to try.
