October promises to be a thrilling month for gaming enthusiasts as Steam prepares for its much-anticipated annual Next Fest. This event, typically held three times a year, serves as a weeklong showcase of forthcoming games, allowing PC gamers to immerse themselves in demos, engage with live streams from developers, and curate their wishlists with exciting new titles.
Anticipation Builds for Upcoming Titles
Scheduled to commence on October 14 and continue through October 21, the Next Fest is poised to unveil a plethora of gaming experiences. While specific titles remain under wraps for now, previous iterations have introduced a remarkable array of games that have left a lasting impression. The June edition, for instance, featured over 50 demos, including notable titles such as Once Human, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Caravan SandWitch, REKA, and Dungeons of Hinterberg.
Some of these games have since made their full debut, and our team at GAMINGbible had the pleasure of exploring them. Our review of Dungeons of Hinterberg highlighted its unique charm: “As a Zelda fan of nearly 30 years, it’s not easy to find a game that comes close to scratching that itch in a truly authentic way, but Dungeons Of Hinterberg is the real deal. This is a real gem of a game that has managed to find a genuinely fresh new way to approach a well-worn genre.”
Another standout, Caravan SandWitch, left a significant mark on our reviewers. “Caravan SandWitch is still fresh in my mind, as is its emotive finale, a conclusion reached based on the choice you make,” one review noted. “I suspect, however, that in the days to follow, Sauge will often pop into my mind, her orange van waiting for me to start the ignition once more.”
As the countdown to October’s Steam Next Fest continues, the gaming community eagerly awaits the unveiling of new titles. One thing is certain: it will be a bustling week filled with opportunities for PC gamers to discover their next favorite game.
