Blizzard Senior Vice President John Hight Departs World of Warcraft Series
John Hight, the senior vice president and general manager of the World of Warcraft series at Blizzard, has announced his departure from the gaming giant. Hight, who joined Blizzard in 2011 as the executive producer and vice president for the company’s flagship MMO, made the announcement on Twitter, stating that it was not an easy decision to make.
Ten years after joining Blizzard, Hight was promoted to his current role. In his Twitter post, he expressed gratitude to the World of Warcraft community, calling them the most passionate, dedicated, and creative in gaming. Hight mentioned that Warcraft is in an amazing position as the universe turns 30, and he feels honored to have served the heroes of Azeroth.
While Hight did not reveal his next destination, he expressed excitement about exploring new opportunities and challenges in the industry. He emphasized his commitment to continue making great games with talented people, thanking the community for inspiring and challenging him throughout his time at Blizzard.
