PUBG: Battlegrounds Takes the Top Spot on Steam
Last week, the popular battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds made a significant jump, climbing 11 places to claim the number one position on Steam. This surge in popularity is believed to be linked to a collaboration event with K-pop group NewJeans, which has brought music videos and aesthetic changes to the game.
This marks the first time since November 2023 that PUBG: Battlegrounds has secured the top spot on Steam, surpassing other titles like Counter-Strike 2, which moved up to second place. Pre-orders for Black Myth: Wukong, last week’s number one, slipped to third place, while Elden Ring maintained its position at fourth.
Notably, Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts franchise made its debut on Steam, with HD 1.5+2.5 Remix ranking as the fifth best-selling game. Destiny 2 dropped to sixth place, while Valve’s Steam Deck hardware fell to eighth. The visually stunning Bodycam also saw a slight decline, landing in ninth place, followed by Dota 2 in the tenth spot.
