On the inaugural day of Pwn2Own Berlin 2026, a total of ,000 was awarded to security researchers for exploiting 24 unique zero-day vulnerabilities. Orange Tsai earned ,000 for chaining four logic bugs to achieve a sandbox escape on Microsoft Edge. Microsoft unveils MDASH, its AI agent-driven security platform — and it’s already spotted a host of new Windows flaws

Microsoft has introduced MDASH, a platform that enhances vulnerability discovery using artificial intelligence, developed by the Autonomous Code Security Team and the Windows Attack Research and Protection group. MDASH has identified 16 previously unknown vulnerabilities in various Windows components, including four critical remote code execution vulnerabilities (CVE‑2026‑33827 and CVE‑2026‑33824). Zelda: Twilight Princess PC port forced to change its name, and for once Nintendo has nothing to do with it

The developers of the unofficial PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess have rebranded the project as Dusklight to avoid trademark conflicts with an established first-person shooter named Dusk, which is owned by New Blood Interactive. The developers announced this decision in a Discord update, stating that no other changes to the project are planned. New Blood Interactive, which holds the trademark for Dusk, expressed appreciation for the developers' cooperation and hinted at a potential crossover between the two games. The Fortnite Overwatch collab is playing it safe, but at least it’s finally real

Fortnite has collaborated with Overwatch, introducing characters Tracer, Mercy, D.Va, and Genji into the game. This collaboration is part of the tenth-anniversary celebrations of Overwatch. The characters are featured in a trailer where they confront the Ice King's forces, with notable lines such as "Heroes never die" from Mercy and "The cavalry's here!" from Tracer. D.Va uses a sword instead of her mech suit, and Genji remains silent. The collaboration will include four new Fortnite skins, three emotes, new weapons, fresh landmarks, Overwatch NPCs in battle royale mode, quests and rewards, and a Porsche Cayenne SUV with Overwatch decals. The launch is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, as part of Chapter 7 Season 2 Act 3.

Android Adds Intrusion Logging for Sophisticated Spyware Forensics

Google introduced a new opt-in feature for Android users called Intrusion Logging, which enhances the analysis of spyware attacks as part of the Advanced Protection Mode. Developed with Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders, it logs daily device and network activities, including app activity, installations, network connections, file transfers, system certificate modifications, and device lock events. The log data is encrypted and stored securely, accessible only to the device owner. Logs are retained for 12 months and cannot be deleted by users before expiration, though they can be downloaded for offline storage. Intrusion Logging also records network events during Chrome's Incognito mode. This feature is beneficial for high-risk individuals who may be targets of surveillance. Users can access the logs through the Settings app, and the rollout is underway for devices with the Android 16 December update and newer. Additionally, Google announced other privacy and security features, including a verified financial call feature to combat scams, expansion of Live Threat Detection, evaluation of APK files for malware, revocation of accessibility services API access from non-designated apps, and enhancements to Find Hub's Mark as Lost feature. Other updates include improved device recovery options, enhanced privacy controls, introduction of AISeal with pKVM, expansion of Binary Transparency, protection against OTP theft, and strengthening data protection with post-quantum cryptography.
