Custom Windows 11 builder axes Microsoft’s AI features, whack-a-moling Copilot, Outlook, and Teams — new Tiny11 Builder release should be Windows 11 25H2 ready

NTDEV has unveiled an updated version of Tiny11 Builder, a tool designed for those who seek to create streamlined and uncluttered installations of Windows 11. This latest iteration brings significant enhancements, including the ability to remove applications such as Copilot, the new Outlook client, and Teams, which have often been likened to a game of whack-a-mole in their persistence on users’ systems. NTDEV assures users that Tiny11 Builder is now fully compatible with Windows 11 25H2, despite Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to introduce unwanted applications into user environments.

The latest version of Tiny11 Builder is reported to be compatible with all Windows 11 SKUs and languages, at least theoretically, for both x64 and arm64 architectures. It has undergone testing on the most recent Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 releases, as well as the Canary Build 27934.

At its core, Tiny11 Builder operates through a PowerShell script known as tiny11maker.ps1. When executed, this script efficiently reduces a fresh official Windows ISO, which users can obtain directly from Microsoft. To bypass the stringent Windows 11 system requirements, users need only one executable: oscdimg.exe, which is included in the Windows ADK and is utilized for creating bootable ISO images.

Additionally, the distribution package includes an “unattended answer file,” allowing users to navigate the Microsoft Account Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) seamlessly, enhancing the overall user experience.

Core, if you dare

Accompanying this release is a more robust option known as the ‘Tiny11 core Builder.’ However, users are cautioned that this core version is intended strictly for testing purposes and is described as a “quick and dirty development testbed.” While it promises to create significantly smaller Windows 11 images, it does come at the cost of certain serviceability features.
