Google Enhances Pixel Launcher in Android 15 Beta
Google has introduced a new feature in the latest Android 15 beta that allows users to view longer app names in the app drawer. This tweak is now available on Pixel devices with the release of Android 15 Beta 3, offering users a more customizable experience.
In the Pixel Launcher, users will find a new “Apps list settings” section, which includes two options. The first option is a toggle that enables automatic search when swiping into the app drawer, a feature that was previously located under “Search settings.”
The second option allows users to “Show long app names,” displaying app names on two lines in search results and the apps list. This change enables users to see the full name of an app without it being cut off, providing a more user-friendly interface.
While this feature is a welcome addition, it may not work for every app, especially those with extremely long names that exceed the two-line limit. However, this change reflects the default behavior in the latest versions of Android, offering users the option to revert to single-line app names if desired.
Overall, this update enhances the user experience on Pixel devices running Android 15 Beta 3, providing more flexibility and customization options within the Pixel Launcher.
