After five years of meticulous development, Going Medieval, the Middle Ages-themed colony simulation game, has officially emerged from early access. The evolution of this title has been remarkable, transforming from a game reminiscent of RimWorld to one that captures the intricate complexity of Dwarf Fortress. Its brilliance remains undeniable.
Holy hole
As I reflect on my journey within this game, I find it amusing that my greatest concern became a rather large pit. This unexpected focus has led to some memorable moments, including an encounter with raiders who inadvertently trapped a sick old man in the depths of my cellar. Remarkably, he survived the ordeal, while the raiders did not. The challenges presented by this pit became a central theme of my medieval adventure, and despite the frustrations it caused, I found immense enjoyment in the process.
Fortunately, I have managed to bring the situation under control, and now a grand castle proudly stands above my once-chaotic cellar. Looking ahead, my ambitions are set on constructing a magnificent cathedral that will serve as a spiritual haven for my peasants. Of course, every cathedral requires its own crypt, which means it’s time to dig yet another intriguing hole into the earth. The journey continues, and I eagerly anticipate what lies ahead in this captivating medieval world.
