Taming the Iron Eagle in the expansive world of Crimson Desert presents a unique challenge, albeit one that is less daunting than that of the elusive Phoenix. However, the endeavor comes with a higher price tag, as this mechanical marvel has a penchant for rare metals like Mercury and Platinum. To earn its trust, players must first gather these precious resources and solve a puzzle to summon the bird.
How to tame the Iron Eagle in Crimson Desert
The Iron Eagle can be found at the Hawkstone Ruins, located just north of the “A” in Deleysia, at the eastern edge of the Crimson Desert continent. To successfully tame this majestic creature, you will need:
- A Sotdae of Bond item for taming birds
- A Gold Bar, which can be acquired in various ways, including purchasing Holy Water from churches in Hernand and Senia
- Mercury and Brimstone, which are more challenging to obtain. Mining is one option, but a quicker method involves building rapport with the troll scholars in Scholastone. By maxing out your relationship with them—requiring just 10 basic hide materials—you may receive two Rubber, Mercury, or Brimstone as a reward.
Once you have gathered enough resources, visit a Witch Vendor and select the option to Craft Abyss Gear. Here, you can create a Platinum bar in the same manner as crafting a Gold Bar. With the Platinum in hand, you’re ready to tame the Iron Eagle.
To summon the Iron Eagle, read the inscription on the central pillar of the Hawkstone Ruins, which states:
- “Step beyond the edge of darkness and grab the handle of dawn to awaken the slumbering steel. Offer the silver shards flowing through the Sotdae, and claim the Wings of Steel.”
In practical terms, this means you must wait until 5am and interact with the dial located to the left of the inscription. This action will summon the Iron Eagle. Next, place the Sotdae of Bond from your inventory and interact with it to add the Platinum as feed.
As the Iron Eagle approaches, it will land and consume the Platinum, granting you an immediate 100 Trust. This allows you to approach and “Take in” the Iron Eagle, unlocking it as a pet.
