Hello Windows Insiders,
Today marks another step forward in the evolution of the Windows Insider Program, as we continue to expand the rollout of the recently announced changes across various channels. It’s important to note that we have yet to initiate the transition for devices in the Canary 29500 Series Channel to the new Windows Insider Program experience.
New builds this week
We are excited to announce the release of new Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds. All Insiders can access the release notes tailored to their specific devices based on the new channel system, even if they have not yet transitioned. This initiative aims to streamline the process of locating build information during this transitional phase. For detailed release notes, please refer to the following:
- For those on other specific build versions, today’s new builds and their corresponding release notes are available.
- As a reminder, your build number can always be found in the watermark located in the bottom right-hand corner of your desktop.
Notable new features:
[Accessibility – screen tint]
Release channel: Experimental
We are thrilled to introduce a new accessibility feature: screen tint. This setting applies a gentle color overlay across your entire display, reducing screen intensity and making it easier on the eyes throughout the day. If you often find yourself fatigued by bright, saturated screens after prolonged use, the screen tint feature may provide the relief you need.
For more information on how to get started and provide feedback, please see the release notes.
[Narrator]
Release channel: Experimental
We are enhancing the usability of refreshable braille displays in Windows. Narrator now seamlessly supports displays that adhere to the HID standard—an open industry standard for braille displays. If your display is HID-compatible, simply connect it via USB to start reading instantly—true plug-and-play functionality with no additional setup required. For Bluetooth users, pairing your HID braille display is as straightforward as connecting any other accessory through Settings > Bluetooth & devices, allowing for wireless operation without being tethered to your PC.
[Voice Isolation in Voice Access]
Release channel: Experimental
We are pleased to introduce Voice Isolation, a new feature in Voice Access designed to enhance voice recognition capabilities. This option enables Voice Access to focus on your voice, even amidst background conversations. Whether you find yourself in a bustling office, an open workspace, or at home with family, Voice Isolation effectively filters out surrounding voices and noise, ensuring clearer communication. Importantly, all processing occurs privately on your device.
For further details on how to get started with these features, please refer to the release notes.
Thank you,
Stephen and the Windows Insider Program team
