Pixel phones are now better at multitasking, thanks to Android 17’s Bubbles

June Pixel Drop Enhances Multitasking with Bubbles Feature

The June Pixel Drop has introduced an exciting new feature for multitaskers: Bubbles. This innovative addition allows users to open up to five apps in floating bubbles, providing quick and easy access without the need to switch away from the current application in use.

To activate this feature, simply long-press any app icon, and it will open in a small floating window. When you tap outside of this window, it minimizes into a discreet bubble on your screen. This functionality is particularly advantageous for messaging and media applications, enabling users to check messages or control media playback seamlessly while engaged in other tasks.

For those utilizing larger devices, such as the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the Bubbles feature is even more refined. On these larger screens, app bubbles are organized in a dedicated bubble bar at the bottom, facilitating effortless switching between apps, resizing, or maximizing them for an enhanced multitasking experience.

While Bubbles have been available in the Android 17 beta for some time, the June Pixel Drop marks their official rollout to all Pixel devices running Android 17. Although the feature has encountered some minor issues, user feedback has been largely positive, highlighting its practicality and ease of use.

In addition to Bubbles, the latest Pixel Drop introduces a variety of other features, including Screen Reactions and new Gemini models, further enriching the user experience across the Pixel ecosystem.
