This secure email service just gave me a real reason to ditch Gmail

Proton Mail now allows users to import Gmail emails directly into the app, enabling them to send emails from their Gmail address within Proton Mail. This feature removes trackers and ads from emails, enhancing user privacy. Users can link their Gmail accounts through the Easy Switch section in Proton Mail settings, and Proton assures that this connection does not give Google access to their Proton Mail inbox. Emails exchanged between linked Gmail accounts using Proton Mail can achieve end-to-end encryption, preventing Google from using email interactions for advertising profiling. However, Google can still access emails that remain in Gmail inboxes. The rollout of this feature is currently underway for Proton Mail users.

Microsoft’s GitHub bans security researcher who posted zero-day Windows exploits because company ‘ruined their life’ — expert claims action is vindictive and promises further retaliation

Researcher Nightmare-Eclipse, also known as Chaotic Eclipse, has had their GitHub account banned by Microsoft, leading them to move their operations to GitLab. Microsoft also deleted Eclipse's Microsoft account used for reporting vulnerabilities. Eclipse claims that they have not received any financial rewards from Microsoft's bug bounty program, despite having reported multiple zero-day vulnerabilities. They possess a portfolio of six zero-day exploits and have hinted at revealing more on July 14. Eclipse has criticized Microsoft for their handling of vulnerability reports and suggested that the company's recent requirement for video evidence of exploits has contributed to tensions. Microsoft has not commented on the specifics of the situation. Eclipse's zero-day exploits include BlueHammer, RedSun, UnDefend, GreenPlasma, MiniPlasma, and YellowKey, with BlueHammer, RedSun, and UnDefend confirmed as actively exploited in the wild.

Capcom has released a demo for Resident Evil Requiem, which will be available in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Since its release in February, Resident Evil Requiem has sold 7 million copies in two months, making it the fastest-selling game in the series.
