Zoho launches business version of messaging app Arattai

SaaS powerhouse Zoho has unveiled a business-centric iteration of its messaging application, Arattai. This new version is designed to facilitate seamless communication between businesses and their customers, enabling organizations to manage conversations directly within the Arattai interface.

Innovative Features and Integrations

In conjunction with the launch of the business version, Zoho has introduced the Arattai Business Platform. This platform is tailored to integrate existing business software and automation systems with Arattai, enhancing operational efficiency. Jeri John, the Global Product Head for Arattai, emphasized the platform’s versatility, stating that companies can easily incorporate their existing web applications into Arattai through the innovative Mini-App feature. This capability allows for the development of smooth AI integrations by leveraging the platform’s Modular Component Protocols (MCPs).

John also reassured consumers about the app’s user experience, highlighting a commitment to safety and simplicity. He noted that users will never be compelled to receive business promotions, thanks to a global switch that allows them to opt out entirely. Additionally, a dedicated business chat view has been implemented, ensuring that users maintain control over their messaging environment.

A Sovereign Alternative

Positioning Arattai as a sovereign alternative to the global messaging behemoth WhatsApp, Zoho aims to capture a significant share of the Indian market. Sridhar Vembu, Zoho’s Chief Scientist, shared insights on X regarding the platform’s accessibility for public services. He announced that the Arattai Business Platform will be available free of charge for government entities and public services, such as the Railways, with ongoing efforts to facilitate these integrations.

Moreover, Vembu indicated that Zoho is extending its generosity to healthcare and educational institutions, offering a complimentary allowance to support these vital sectors. This strategic move not only underscores Zoho’s commitment to enhancing communication across various industries but also reinforces its position as a key player in the messaging landscape.
