Announcing new builds for July 6 2026

Hello Windows Insiders,

Today marks an exciting milestone with the release of new Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds across both the Beta and Experimental channels. As a gentle reminder, all Insiders can easily access the release notes tailored for their devices, thanks to the newly implemented channel system. This initiative aims to streamline the process of finding build information during this transition phase. For those interested, you can view your channel release notes here.

For users on specific build versions, here are the latest updates:

  • Beta (26H1): Build 2820.2380
  • Experimental (26H1): Build 28120.2387
  • Experimental (Future Platforms): No new build is available for this channel today; please stay tuned for future announcements.

Notable new features:

[Cloud Recovery]

Release channel: Experimental

  • Introducing Cloud rebuild, a groundbreaking recovery option that allows users to restore their Windows 11 PC to a pristine, known-good state through a complete OS reinstall, even if the system fails to boot. Unlike the traditional Reset this PC feature, Cloud rebuild downloads both the target Windows image and the necessary device drivers directly from Windows Update. This ensures that the device is fully operational without the need for USB media or a custom image, and it does not rely on the current OS’s health.

[Account Control]

Release channel: Experimental

  • The Windows 11 Account Control flyout has undergone a modern redesign, featuring a clear subscription badge that makes the user’s account status immediately visible. This enhancement allows users to easily identify their plan, uncover benefits, and explore potential upgrades.
