The recent Palworld 1.0 update introduces a wealth of new features, including a variety of pals, weapons, and expansive zones. However, amidst these exciting additions, players may overlook some essential resources for crafting. As I navigated the updated tech tree, I encountered a new crafting material: hardwood. This resource becomes crucial in later level recipes, particularly between levels 40 and 50, following the use of planks. After exploring several islands, I discovered that I had missed key locations for harvesting hardwood, which could save others from a similar oversight.
Palworld hardwood location
Head to the Twilight Dunes or Sakurajima
Hardwood can be found relatively early in the Twilight Dunes and later in the Dancing Sakura Shrine area. For efficient navigation, it’s advisable to unlock one of the following fast travel locations:
- Anubis Dunes – Located northeast of the Anubis statue and boss arena.
- Moonflower Tower Entrance – Found northwest of the Sakurajima Watchtower statue.
Harvesting hardwood requires no special tools; a Metal Axe suffices in both locations.
In the Twilight Dunes, hardwood can be gathered from the distinctive twisting trees with spiky leaves. Meanwhile, around the Sakura shrine, look for hardwood dropping from Sakura trees characterized by their red or white trunks. It’s wise to collect a substantial amount of hardwood and unlock nearby fast travel statues or establish a base for convenient access. Each High Quality Wooden Board crafted at level 43 in the tech tree will require 10 hardwood, making this resource essential for your crafting endeavors.
