The software responsible for managing these RGB devices often installs drivers or code components with names like “inpoutx64” to facilitate lighting control. Unfortunately, launching certain games can trigger this problematic driver, resulting in crashes.

While Microsoft has not disclosed the exact cause of the issue, it is believed to be related to anti-cheat mechanisms that do not favor kernel-mode drivers operating in user space. The RGB software, like many applications, is intended to function within user space; however, the driver it employs to connect with peripheral controllers operates in kernel space. If the driver is terminated unexpectedly while executing critical instructions, it results in a severe kernel fault.
