In a recent video released ahead of this year’s Gamescom show, CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski provided insights into the highly anticipated sequel to The Witcher series, as well as an upcoming expansion for The Witcher 3. With more than a year until the expected launch, Nowakowski expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We have more than 500 incredibly talented developers working to create something truly special for you.”
Ambitious Developments Ahead
The Witcher 4 promises to deliver a vast and immersive open world, combined with intense, action-packed gameplay and a narrative that aims to resonate deeply with players. Nowakowski emphasized the scale of the project, describing it as “our biggest, boldest, and most ambitious game to date.”
While the timeline remains flexible, the term “targeting” suggests that CD Projekt is allowing itself some leeway regarding the release date. This approach reflects lessons learned from previous launches, particularly The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, both of which faced multiple delays.
“I know it’s a bit of a wait, but let the team cook,” Nowakowski reassured fans. “It will be worth the wait.”
