The upcoming feature was initially discovered by a user on X, known as “phantomofearth,” who shared snippets from the latest build that provide insight into its operation:

- “This prevents the mode from changing while you’re working or in meetings”
- “Turn on location services to automatically schedule dark mode. When location services are turned off, dark mode is active from [START] to [END].”
Although the available information is limited, these snippets suggest a promising functionality. The feature appears to allow users to switch modes based on their geographical location, aligning with natural light patterns such as sunrise and sunset. Additionally, users will have the option to set specific times for these transitions.
Importantly, the feature seems designed to only change themes when the PC is idle, thereby avoiding any disruptive shifts during critical tasks or meetings. While similar capabilities are currently accessible through various applications, the prospect of having this feature natively integrated into Windows 11 is an exciting development.
