Game Freak has announced Ame no Chi Hare Onna, a free-to-play “laundry game” for iOS and Android jointly developed with CHRONOGATE. It will launch this winter in Japan. Shigeru Ohmori, director of the Pokemon series and Pokemon Pokopia concept and senior director, serves as the game’s director and producer.
In Ame no Chi Hare Onna, real-world weather influences various aspects of the game. Players will be able to enjoy a new type of daily gaming experience connected to weather forecasts across Japan. The game is set in modern-day Japan. Hare Onna is a magical girl who can turn weather into power and use it to brighten people’s moods. Her partner, Kumorin, is a messenger of the gods who grants her power. The story follows Hare Onna and Kumorin as they bring brightness and happiness to people across Japan.
Hare Onna is voiced by Hiyori Kono and designed by Aki Minamino. Kumorin is voiced by Yuki Nagano and designed by Kyoko Abe of Game Freak. Game Freak will host the first “Hare Onna Club Meeting” live stream on September 14 at 19:00 JST, where it will discuss the game’s production process and introduce the characters alongside the voice actors. Further information will be announced at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which will run from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Watch the teaser trailer below.
