Proper games are making their way to Android Auto and Android Automotive, providing another source of entertainment for those in a parked car. The feature, which was previously in beta, has now been confirmed to allow developers to release full games for support on both platforms.
Google has officially enabled support for games in Android Auto and Android Automotive, giving users the ability to play games on their car’s display when not driving. While the feature was initially in beta, it provided access to a variety of games that could be played on the screen. However, there is no option to use car parts as controllers, so you won’t be able to steer with the steering wheel.
This move by Google aims to enhance the entertainment options available in-car, catering to users of both Android Auto and Android Automotive. Vehicles with Google built-in will also benefit from this new feature.
The announcement was made through a new Google Developers Blog, which outlined the necessary steps for developers to optimize their games for car screens and declared support for these additional platforms.
