Drop Duchy: A Unique Blend of Gaming Genres
Doghowl Games has recently launched the mobile version of Drop Duchy, a game developed by Sleepy Mill Studio that combines elements from Tetris, city-building simulators, and card roguelikes. Available on both Android and iOS, this game has already garnered a loyal following since its initial release on PC in May 2025.
Drop Duchy takes the familiar concept of falling Tetris-like blocks and adds a medieval twist by transforming them into sections of a duchy. Players are tasked with strategically placing forests, rivers, and plains on the field, constructing production buildings, and building an army to defend their territory. Enemy structures also fall from above, adding an extra layer of challenge as players must carefully choose where to place them.
Once the field is filled, players engage in battles where they must strategically combine allied units and plan their attacks based on the strengths and weaknesses of archers, swordsmen, and axemen. Between battles, players navigate a map with branching paths, upgrade buildings, and replenish their deck of cards. Completing challenges unlocks new cards and permanent bonuses for future gameplay.
The mobile version of Drop Duchy follows a “try before you buy” model, allowing players to download the game for free and play an introductory segment before deciding to purchase the full version for 475 rubles. With its unique gameplay mechanics and engaging strategy elements, Drop Duchy offers a fresh and exciting gaming experience for players of all levels.
