14 indie games we saw at Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona that you’ve got to check out

The Very Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona 2026, sponsored by Xsolla, has once again illuminated the vibrant landscape of indie game development. This year marked our second foray into Barcelona, and the wealth of local talent was nothing short of inspiring.

For those unfamiliar with the format, the Very Big Indie Pitch is a dynamic, speed-dating style competition where indie developers are given five minutes to present their games to a rotating panel of industry experts—our esteemed judges. Participants receive invaluable feedback and insights from professionals across various sectors of the gaming industry, including publishing, scouting, development, and media.

Showcasing Innovation

At this year’s event, we featured both a mobile version of the pitch and a dedicated PC and console segment. The latter highlighted a remarkable array of innovative projects that our judges had the pleasure of evaluating.

Meet, greet and play

This fast-paced gathering attracts developers at various stages of their projects, presenting a diverse mix of genres and themes. It serves not only as a fantastic networking opportunity but also as a showcase for some truly impressive work-in-progress titles.

The pitching sessions have become a hallmark of PG Connects conferences and other gaming events around the globe, offering unique insights into regional development scenes while providing indie developers the chance to connect with industry experts.

Below, we present the complete lineup of games featured during the PC and console pitch session, each accompanied by a brief preview to help you discover your next potential game of the year.
