Out of the blue, a new rideable Minecraft mob has been revealed. I say ‘new;’ it’s more a different form of an existing mount, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Say hello to the camel husk, which is the new pet of choice for the desert-dwelling husks – and potentially a new companion for you, too. However, actually securing one for yourself could be a dangerous undertaking.
Exploring the New Camel Husk
Minecraft continues to captivate players with its vast sandbox world, and the introduction of the camel husk adds yet another layer of intrigue. This new mob, currently available for testing in Minecraft Java, offers a fresh twist on the existing camel. With the ability to carry two passengers, these creatures are passive and can be tamed with relative ease. However, players should be cautious; upon encountering a camel husk, it may already be under the ownership of spear-wielding husks. These desert-dwelling zombies have taken a liking to cruising around on camel husks, armed with Minecraft’s latest weaponry, which has been receiving buffs at an impressive rate.
A New Challenge: The Parcher
As if the introduction of camel husks wasn’t enough, Mojang has also unveiled a second new mob: the parcher. This hostile variant of the desert skeleton, aptly named for its penchant for archery, adds an extra layer of challenge for players seeking to commandeer a camel husk. The parcher roams the desert alongside husks, providing both ranged and close-quarters threats that players must navigate before they can claim their new mount.
Mounts That Swim
In addition to these exciting new mobs, Mojang is testing a significant change that will allow all mounts to swim. While they may not be as swift in water as they are on land, this feature promises to enhance exploration, eliminating the need for lengthy detours around bodies of water. This development is sure to delight those venturing into the farthest reaches of the Overworld.
For those eager to experience these updates, they are currently available in Minecraft Java for players with snapshots enabled. Mojang has indicated that the new mobs and the swimming feature will soon make their way to Bedrock preview and beta versions as well.
