Amazon has made a significant announcement regarding its multiplayer online game, New World, revealing plans to cease operations by 2027. As outlined in a recent blog post, the game will officially go offline on January 31, 2027. This decision follows an earlier announcement from October 2025, which indicated that New World would no longer receive new content updates.

Looking ahead, Amazon is set to release New World: Aeternum for Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as PlayStation 5, in October 2024. This title was also featured in Amazon’s Prime Video anthology series, Secret Level, alongside the short-lived Sony live-service game, Concord, which infamously shut down just two weeks after its launch.
